Verne's Glaucus is a captivating cultivar of Trichocereus peruvianus, renowned for its striking powdery blue stems and pronounced ribbing. This columnar cactus showcases a distinctive glaucous hue, making it a standout addition to any succulent collection. In cultivation, it can reach heights of up to 6 feet (1.8 meters), with mature specimens displaying a robust, upright growth habit. Thriving in full sun, Verne's Glaucus prefers well-draining soil and requires minimal watering—allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings—to prevent root rot. It's well-suited for USDA Zones 9b to 11, tolerating temperatures down to 25°F (–3.9°C) when kept dry. This low-maintenance cactus is ideal for xeriscaping, desert gardens, or as a striking container plant, offering both visual appeal and resilience.
