The Trachycarpus fortunei, commonly known as the Windmill Palm, is a slow-growing, cold-hardy palm with a slender, fibrous trunk and a crown of large, fan-shaped green leaves that add a tropical feel to any landscape. It can reach 20–40 feet in height with a spread of 6–10 feet, making it ideal for focal points, driveways, or garden accents. This versatile palm thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-draining soil with moderate watering, though it is drought-tolerant once established. It produces small, yellowish flowers in late spring to summer, followed by blue-black fruits, though the flowers are more ornamental than showy. Known for its resilience in both heat and cold, the Windmill Palm adapts well to a range of climates, including urban and coastal environments. Its low-maintenance nature and elegant form make it a favorite for both private gardens and public spaces. USDA Hardiness Zones 7–11.

Please note that the plant may or may not be in bloom when purchased. You will receive a similar or better plant as the one pictured. These are fully rooted plants. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY. We do not ship internationally.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot. This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight. Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry.
