Squid Agave | Agave bracteosa

Agave bracteosa, commonly known as the Squid Agave, is a distinctive succulent that forms a symmetrical rosette of up to 20 slender, pale green, toothless leaves that arch and twist, resembling the tentacles of a squid. Mature plants typically reach a height of about 2 feet and a width of 2 to 3 feet. They produce creamy-white, bottlebrush-like flowers atop a 4 to 8-foot spike in spring. This drought-tolerant agave thrives in full sun to partial shade and requires minimal watering, making it ideal for xeriscaping and rock gardens. It is best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 8 to 11.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot.  This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
