Senecio jacobsenii (also called Trailing Jade or Weeping Jade) is a creeping succulent with thick stems and glossy, overlapping egg-shaped leaves that may blush purple in cold weather. It can trail up to about 4 feet long when given room to drape. It thrives in bright light to partial sun, prefers very well-draining soil, and should be watered only when the soil has fully dried out to prevent rot. In fall or winter it may bloom with small orange star flowers, adding a splash of color. It is hardy in USDA Zones 10a to 11b.
