Opuntia microdasys 'Rubra' 4in

The Opuntia microdasys 'Rubra', also known as the Red Bunny Ear Cactus, is a distinctive succulent featuring flat, rounded pads covered in small, dense, reddish glochids that give it a colorful, textured appearance without long spines. This slow-growing cactus typically reaches 2–3 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide, forming an attractive clumping mound perfect for containers or rock gardens. It thrives in full sun with well-draining soil and requires very low water, making it ideal for xeriscaping or desert-style gardens. In late spring through summer, it may produce small yellow flowers that contrast beautifully with its red-tinted pads. The Opuntia microdasys 'Rubra' is highly tolerant of heat and drought and is well-suited to low-maintenance outdoor or indoor growing with plenty of sunlight. Its unique red hue and soft, dense glochids make it a striking and unusual addition to any succulent or cactus collection. USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11.

Smaller items may or may not be shipped within their nursery pots. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
