Oreocereus doelzianus, commonly known as the "Old Man of the Andes," is a distinctive cactus native to the high altitudes of central Peru. It features cylindrical, olive-green stems that are densely covered with white, woolly hairs, giving it a unique, beard-like appearance. Mature plants typically reach heights of up to 3 feet and a diameter of 2.4 to 3.1 inches. They produce bright tubular flowers that vary in color (pictured above). This cactus thrives in light shade to morning sun and is highly drought-tolerant, requiring minimal watering once established. It is best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 8 to 11.

You will receive the exact plant pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY.  We do not ship internationally.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot.  This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
