Purple Hopseed Bush | Dodonaea viscosa 'Purpurea' 3g

The Dodonaea viscosa ‘Purpurea’, also known as the Purple Hopbush, is a fast-growing evergreen shrub prized for its slender, lance-shaped leaves that emerge green and mature to a striking deep purple-bronze color. This hardy shrub can reach 10–15 feet tall and 6–10 feet wide, making it ideal for use as a hedge, screen, or colorful accent in the landscape. It thrives in full sun, is highly drought-tolerant once established, and performs well in poor or rocky soils, making it an excellent choice for low-water and xeriscape gardens. While primarily grown for its vibrant foliage, it may produce small, inconspicuous yellow-green flowers in spring, followed by decorative papery seed capsules that add seasonal interest. All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot. This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight. Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry.
