Cereus peruvianus monstrose, also known as the Monstrose Apple Cactus, is a sculptural treat with its twisted, contorted blue-green columns and prominent ridges—an eye-catching addition to any succulent collection. Over many years, this slow- to moderate-growing cactus can reach heights of 15–30 feet outdoors, though it remains more compact in containers. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-draining sandy or cactus soil, with a “soak-and-dry” watering approach during its spring–summer growing season; reduce watering significantly in fall–winter to prevent root rot. Hardy in USDA Zones 9b–11, this hardy xerophyte tolerates brief dips to ~20°F (−6 °C) when kept dry . In late spring to summer, it may reward you with large, fragrant, night-blooming white flowers (6–8″ across), followed by edible “Peruvian apple” fruits. Low-maintenance and architectural, this rare monstrose form is perfect for drought-tolerant gardens, dramatic containers, or as a sculptural indoor specimen near a bright window.

You will receive the exact plant pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY.  We do not ship internationally.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot.  This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
