Cereus forbesii monstrose ‘Ming Thing’ is a rare and highly sought-after cactus known for its unusual, sculptural growth of chunky, twisting blue-green stems that form a compact and crested mass. Its unique, bumpy texture and dramatic shape make it a standout addition to any succulent or cactus collection. This slow-growing cactus typically reaches about 12 inches tall and wide, forming an eye-catching mound over time. ‘Ming Thing’ prefers bright, indirect light or filtered full sun and thrives in well-draining cactus soil. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings—ideal for drought-tolerant or xeriscape gardens. Best grown in containers or sheltered outdoor spots in USDA zones 9–11, it also makes a stunning indoor specimen with proper lighting. Low-maintenance and full of personality, this mutant variety is a must-have for collectors of rare or weird plants.

Please note that the plant may or may not be in bloom when purchased. You will receive the exact plant pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY. We do not ship internationally.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot. This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight. Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
