The foliage has a finely textured, almost frilly appearance compared to most agaves, giving it a unique ornamental appeal in landscape and container plantings. This agave typically reaches about 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide at maturity, making it a compact yet bold focal point. It thrives in full sun and requires well-draining soil, with very low water needs once established, making it highly drought tolerant and ideal for xeriscaping. When mature, it may produce a tall flower spike rising up to 8 to 10 feet, bearing pale yellow-green blooms that attract pollinators before the plant gradually completes its life cycle.
