Acacia podalyriifolia, commonly known as Pearl Acacia or Queensland Silver Wattle, is an elegant evergreen tree with silvery‑blue, oval phyllodes and gracefully arching branches. This fast‑growing species typically reaches 10 to 20 ft tall and wide (3–6 m), forming a broad, multi‑stemmed crown over several years. In winter to early spring it covers itself in fragrant clusters of golden-yellow, powder‑puff blooms that attract pollinators. It thrives in full sun with neutral to slightly acidic, well‑draining soil and demands minimal moisture once established, making it highly drought-tolerant. Hardy in USDA zones 9–11, it's tolerant of heat and clay soils but intolerant of waterlogging. Ideal for xeriscaping, patios in large containers, or as a fragrant floral focal point in warm-climate gardens.
