Mexican Feather Grass (Stipa tenuissima) is a graceful ornamental grass known for its fine, hair-like green foliage that sways elegantly with the slightest breeze, adding movement and softness to any garden. This clump-forming perennial typically reaches heights of 12 to 24 inches (30–60 cm) and spreads about 12 to 24 inches wide, making it ideal for borders, containers, or mass plantings . Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, it is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance . Its delicate, silvery-green leaves transition to a golden hue in autumn, providing year-round interest . Hardy in USDA zones 6–10, Mexican Feather Grass is an excellent choice for xeriscaping, coastal gardens, and low-water landscapes . Please note that in some regions, including parts of California, it is considered invasive due to its self-seeding nature .

You will receive a plant similar to the one pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY.  We do not ship internationally.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot.  This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry.
