Knife Acacia (Acacia cultriformis) is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to Australia, celebrated for its distinctive, silvery-gray, triangular phyllodes that resemble knife blades. In late winter to early spring, it produces fragrant, fluffy, bright yellow flowers that attract pollinators and add vibrant color to the landscape . Typically reaching heights of 10 to 20 feet and spreading 10 to 15 feet wide, Knife Acacia has a fast growth rate of 24 to 36 inches per year, making it ideal for use as a hedge, screen, or focal point in gardens . Thriving in full sun and well-drained soils, it is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance . Hardy in USDA zones 9 through 10, this versatile plant is also deer-resistant and adapts well to various soil types, including clay, loam, and sand . Its unique foliage and showy blooms make Knife Acacia a standout choice for xeriscaping, coastal gardens, and Mediterranean-style landscapes .
