Desert Broom (Baccharis sarothroides) is a resilient, fast-growing shrub native to the arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Featuring slender, green stems with small, narrow leaves that often drop during dry seasons, it maintains an evergreen appearance due to its vibrant stems. This hardy plant typically reaches heights of 4 to 12 feet and spreads 4 to 6 feet wide, making it ideal for hedges, windbreaks, or erosion control on slopes . Thriving in full sun and well-drained sandy or rocky soils, Desert Broom is exceptionally drought-tolerant and requires minimal maintenance once established. From late summer through fall, it produces clusters of small, white to cream-colored flowers that attract butterflies and other pollinators . Hardy in USDA Zones 7–10, this low-water-use plant is perfect for xeriscaping and sustainable landscaping projects.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot. This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight. Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry
