Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis) is a versatile evergreen shrub or small tree, celebrated for its glossy, aromatic leaves commonly used in culinary dishes like soups and stews. This Mediterranean native features leathery, dark green foliage and can be pruned into hedges, topiaries, or grown as a container specimen. In the ground, it typically reaches 10 to 30 feet tall, but when container-grown, it can be maintained at 4 to 8 feet with regular pruning. Bay Laurel thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil with moderate watering; once established, it exhibits notable drought tolerance. Hardy in USDA Zones 8–10, it can be grown indoors in cooler climates, provided it receives ample sunlight. Its slow growth and adaptability make it an excellent choice for both ornamental and edible gardens.

Please note that the plant may or may not be in bloom when purchased. You will receive a similar or better plant as the one pictured. These are fully rooted plants. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY. We do not ship internationally.

All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot. This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight. Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry.
