4-inch Turk’s Cap Cactus | Melocactus violaceus A1

Melocactus violaceus, commonly known as the Turk's cap cactus, features a dark green, globular stem adorned with 5 to 15 prominent ribs and slender, brownish spines that often have darker tips. Upon reaching maturity, it develops a distinctive red cephalium—a wool- and bristle-covered structure—measuring up to 2.4 inches (6 cm) in height and 3.5 to 8.5 inches (9 to 22 cm) in diameter. This cactus typically grows between 2 to 8 inches (5 to 20 cm) tall and 2.4 to 8 inches (6 to 20 cm) in diameter. Native to northeastern Brazil, Melocactus violaceus thrives in full sun and requires minimal watering, making it well-suited for arid environments. It is best cultivated in USDA Hardiness Zones 10b to 11.

Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
