4-inch Spiny Pincushion Cactus | Mammillaria spinosissima

Mammillaria spinosissima, commonly known as the spiny pincushion cactus, is a striking, cylindrical cactus native to central Mexico. It features dense coverings of red-brown or white spines and produces vibrant pink, funnel-shaped flowers that encircle the stem’s apex. This species can grow up to 12 inches in height and 4 inches in diameter. Thriving in well-drained, sandy or loamy soils with a pH ranging from acidic to neutral, it prefers full, filtered sun exposure and low humidity. Watering should be infrequent, approximately once every two to three weeks, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, and kept nearly dry during winter months. Mammillaria spinosissima is suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 9b to 11, making it an excellent choice for both patio and container cultivation.

You will receive a plant similar to the one pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY.  We do not ship internationally.

4-inch items may or may not be shipped within their nursery pots. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
