Neochilenia chilensis flaviflora, also known as Eriosyce chilensis, is a captivating cactus featuring pale green stems adorned with dense, stout spines. This perennial species typically grows up to 12 inches tall and 3 to 5 inches in diameter, maintaining a compact, spherical to columnar shape. In summer, it produces striking, showy flowers that are usually creamy white but can also be pink-orange or carmine red, measuring up to 2 inches across. This cactus thrives in full sun and requires minimal watering, making it ideal for arid conditions. It is well-suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 9 to 11.
