The Mammillaria scrippsiana is a charming, clump-forming cactus with small, rounded stems covered in dense white radial spines. Each stem typically can grow up to 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide, gradually forming attractive mounds over time. It thrives in full sun to bright indirect light, requires low water, and does best in well-draining, gritty soil to prevent rot. In spring, it produces delicate pale pink to lavender flowers that bloom in a ring around the top of each stem, creating a classic Mammillaria "flower crown" effect. This cactus is drought-tolerant and should be watered sparingly, especially during its winter dormancy. Perfect for rock gardens, small containers, or windowsill collections. Best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11.
