The Lobivia maximiliana v. charazanensis is a striking, clump-forming cactus with a rounded to slightly cylindrical body, featuring deep ribs lined with short dense spines. It remains compact, typically growing up to 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide, and will form attractive clusters over time. This cactus thrives in full sun to partial shade, requires low water, and needs well-draining soil to prevent excess moisture buildup. During late spring through summer, it produces bold red to orange-red flowers with a contrasting yellow center, often appearing in multiples and creating a vivid display. It's well-suited for rock gardens, cactus containers, or sunny windowsills. Water deeply but infrequently during the growing season, and keep dry in winter. Best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11.
