4-inch Ferocactus viridescens var. orcuttii

The Ferocactus viridescens, also known as the Coast Barrel Cactus or Green Barrel Cactus, features a rounded, ribbed body with vibrant green skin and bold, reddish spines that curve slightly outward. This striking cactus can grow up to 3 feet tall and about 1.5 feet wide, making it a standout feature in rock gardens, containers, or desert landscapes. It thrives in full sun, prefers low water conditions, and does best in gritty, well-draining soil. During the summer months, it produces bright yellow flowers that often have a reddish tint in the center, attracting pollinators and adding a splash of color to its spiny form. This cactus is highly drought-tolerant and well-suited for xeriscaping or sunny windowsills when grown indoors. It should be watered sparingly, especially during cooler months when dormant. Best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11.

You will receive a plant similar to the one pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY.  We do not ship internationally.

4-inch items may or may not be shipped within their nursery pots. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
