Euphorbia knuthii is a captivating caudiciform succulent renowned for its distinctive gnarled caudex and spiny, cascading branches. The caudex can reach up to 5 inches in diameter, serving as the base for slender, light green branches adorned with prominent green and reddish-brown stripes. These branches typically grow up to 8 inches long but can extend beyond 20 inches under optimal cultivation conditions. Native to Southern and Eastern Africa, this species thrives in full sun to light shade and is extremely drought-tolerant, making it ideal for low-water gardens or indoor collections. For best results, plant in well-draining soil and allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Euphorbia knuthii is suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 10 and 11.
