4-inch Echinocereus rigidissimus 'Rubispinus' | Rainbow Hedgehog Cactus

Echinocereus rigidissimus, commonly known as the Arizona rainbow cactus or rainbow hedgehog cactus, is a solitary-growing cactus species native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. It features a spherical to cylindrical stem that can reach heights of 2.4 to 11.8 inches and diameters of 1.6 to 4.3 inches. The plant is entirely covered by its spines, which are arranged in a comb-like fashion and often interlock. These spines are robust and can be red, white, yellowish, or brownish. It produces funnel-shaped flowers that are bright pink to magenta with a white throat, appearing at the tips of the stems. The fruits are fleshy, green to red, and densely spined. This species is adapted to arid environments and is commonly found in its native range. Thrives best in USDA hardiness zones 9-11

4-inch items may or may not be shipped within their nursery pots. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
