Buiningia brevicylindrica var. longispina, also known as Coleocephalocereus aureus var. longispinus, is a distinctive columnar cactus native to Brazil. In cultivation, this cactus can reach heights of up to 24 inches (60 cm) and diameters between 2.4 to 7.2 inches (6 to 18 cm). Its stems are adorned with golden spines and feature 10 to 18 ribs, often forming clumps over time. As the plant matures, it develops a lateral cephalium—a densely woolly or bristly area—from which small yellowish nocturnal flowers emerge during the summer months. This cactus thrives in full sun and requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot. It is drought-tolerant and should be watered sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. While it can tolerate brief periods of light frost if kept dry, it is best to protect it from freezing temperatures.

You will receive the exact plant pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY.  We do not ship internationally.
