4-inch Aloe hybrid SH53 | Aloe marlothi x aloe striata

This handsome aloe hybrid features broad, frosty blue-green to slate-gray leaves with smooth margins and faint striping, forming a bold rosette with a slight architectural flair. It can grow up to about 3 ft tall and spread around 3 ft wide under good conditions. The plant thrives in full sun to part shade, enjoys well-draining cactus or succulent mix and low to moderate water, and in late winter to early spring may produce tall slender flower spikes bearing coral-orange to red blooms. It tolerates warm dry conditions and is a standout accent in container gardens or arid-style landscapes. Suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 9 through 11.

Care tips:

• Use a gritty, fast-draining soil mix (e.g., 50 % cactus soil + 50 % pumice or coarse sand).

• Provide at least 6 h of direct sun daily; acclimate gradually if moving outdoors.

• Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry out completely before the next watering; reduce water in winter.

• Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced, diluted succulent fertilizer.

• Protect from heavy frost; in cooler climates, grow in a pot and bring inside when temps drop below ~ 30 °F.

4-inch items may or may not be shipped within their nursery pots. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight.  Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care.
