This handsome aloe hybrid features broad, frosty blue-green to slate-gray leaves with smooth margins and faint striping, forming a bold rosette with a slight architectural flair. It can grow up to about 3 ft tall and spread around 3 ft wide under good conditions. The plant thrives in full sun to part shade, enjoys well-draining cactus or succulent mix and low to moderate water, and in late winter to early spring may produce tall slender flower spikes bearing coral-orange to red blooms. It tolerates warm dry conditions and is a standout accent in container gardens or arid-style landscapes. Suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 9 through 11.
Care tips:
-
Use a gritty, fast-draining soil mix (e.g., 50 % cactus soil + 50 % pumice or coarse sand).
-
Provide at least 6 h of direct sun daily; acclimate gradually if moving outdoors.
-
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry out completely before the next watering; reduce water in winter.
-
Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced, diluted succulent fertilizer.
-
Protect from heavy frost; in cooler climates, grow in a pot and bring inside when temps drop below ~ 30 °F.
