Known as the legendary plant behind tequila production, Agave tequilana, or Blue Agave, is a fast-growing, large succulent prized for its graceful blue-gray leaves and dramatic form. Native to the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, this striking agave forms a symmetrical rosette with long, slender, sword-like leaves tipped with sharp spines. In the landscape, it makes a bold statement as a focal point or accent plant, and it also thrives in large containers. It’s ideal for xeriscaping due to its high drought tolerance and minimal care needs. With time, mature plants can reach up to 6–8 feet wide and tall before sending up a towering flower spike, after which the main plant dies but often leaves behind pups. Thrives best in USDA hardiness zones 9-11.
You will receive a plant similar to the one pictured, it is a fully rooted plant. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail within the United States and its outlying territories ONLY. We do not ship internationally.
All of our plants are shipped bare-root and without their original nursery pot. This is done both to protect the plant and to reduce shipping expenses. We pack our products by hand and take great care to ensure they arrive at their final destination safely. Upon receiving your plants, make sure to remove them from their packaging immediately, repot them using dry soil, and provide ample sunlight. Water as needed, making sure to water again only when the soil is completely dry. Succulents are very hardy and will rebound easily with proper care
