Silver Mound Artemisia (Artemisia schmidtiana ‘Silver Mound’) is a compact, mounding perennial prized for its soft, silky, silver-gray foliage that forms a neat, cushion-like shape. Typically growing 6 to 12 inches tall and spreading 12 to 18 inches wide, it’s ideal for borders, rock gardens, or as a groundcover. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this drought-tolerant plant requires minimal maintenance once established. While it may produce small, inconspicuous yellow flowers in late summer, it’s primarily valued for its striking foliage. Hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 9.
